U-Haul® has initiated its disaster relief program following the severe storms and extensive flooding that affected the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area and other regions of north and west Texas on Sunday night.
In a move to support residents in their recovery efforts, the company has announced a provision of 30 days of complimentary self-storage and U-Box container usage at 75 facilities located in the affected areas. Four

Access to dry and secure storage solutions proves essential for communities navigating the challenging cleanup process that follows natural disasters.
“Last night, the Dallas metro experienced severe weather, and our teams are ready to assist anyone who requires help,” said Matt Merrill, U-Haul Area District Vice President for the DFW metroplex. U-Haul is offering a month of free storage to aid individuals in their recovery efforts following the recent storms. Those in need are encouraged to call or visit any U-Haul-owned center in the area for assistance.
A complimentary 30-day offer is now available for new self-storage and U-Box rentals, contingent upon availability. The U-Box portable containers offered are designed to provide on-site storage solutions at U-Haul company centers. Residents seeking additional information about the disaster relief program or interested in arranging services are encouraged to contact their local regional U-Haul office or visit any participating self-storage facility.
Numerous U-Haul locations are participating, with stores operating under various regional offices across several cities. These include Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Garland, McKinney, Plano, Denton, and Irving, as well as extending to Abilene and Lubbock in West Texas.
