In the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report for 2025–2026, nearly a dozen suburbs in the Dallas area have garnered national recognition, with Flower Mound standing out as the top contender.

The vibrant North Texas community has achieved a notable ranking, securing the 14th position nationally and claiming the 4th spot in the state-specific listings. Flower Mound, boasting a population exceeding 77,000 and a median household income of $163,766, remains a magnet for families and professionals in pursuit of an exceptional quality of life near Dallas.

In a significant development, U.S. News has broadened its rankings to encompass 250 cities nationwide. The evaluation process utilized five critical indices: quality of life, value, desirability, job market, and net migration. Flower Mound has secured a notable position due to its robust economy, median home values standing at $476,609, and a vibrant, expanding population.

The town exhibits a notable demographic profile, with 26% of its residents aged under 20, 28% falling within the 20-44 age bracket, and nearly one-third of the population in their prime working years, aged between 45 and 64. The balanced age distribution reinforces Flower Mound’s standing as a desirable location for families and a thriving center for working professionals.

Flower Mound continues to make headlines as a top contender on “best of” lists, having secured the title of the No. 1 best place to live in America for 2025 according to Livability.com. Additionally, it was recognized as one of the nation’s most livable small cities in 2024.

Flower Mound, strategically situated in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, boasts top-tier schools and a strong job market. This suburb is emerging as a national model for contemporary suburban living.
