As of now, the National Weather Service Fort Worth office and NBC5 both indicate that the Dallas-Fort Worth area will experience a hot and humid stretch of weather with no signs of rain.

This weekend and into next week, the real temperature will stay just below the triple-digit mark. However, the "feels-like" temperature is expected to soar, reaching a high point of 104 to 106 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. The trend is likely to continue throughout the week, and by midweek, heat indexes could reach as high as 109 degrees.

Daytime highs will stay at 97°F until Tuesday. From Wednesday to Friday, temperatures are expected to rise to 99°F, bringing the area one step closer to its first 100°F temperature of the year. The lows at night will stay warm, too, between 77 and 79 degrees.

Here’s a brief look at the week ahead:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny, hot, humid, and breezy. Low: 77 / High: 97

  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Low: 78 / High: 97

  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Low: 78 / High: 99

  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Low: 78 / High: 99

  • Friday: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Low: 79 / High: 99

There is no chance of rain, so North Texas will not get any break from the heat. As the heat worsens, people are advised to drink plenty of water, limit their time outside during the hottest parts of the day, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion.

Even if the temperature is below 100 degrees, the high humidity will cause it to feel significantly hotter. This is a warning that Texas summers are still young.
