Kelvin Joseph Jr., a former cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, has been arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Collision Involving Personal Injury or Death.
This follows a tragic motorcycle accident that occurred early Saturday morning on the northbound lanes of North Central Expressway (U.S. 75). Authorities have confirmed that 25-year-old Joseph admitted to his role in the accident that resulted in the death of a female motorcycle rider.
At 4:51 a.m. on Saturday, police in Richardson arrived at the scene located in the 2400 block of U.S. 75. Emergency personnel arrived at the crash site to discover that no other vehicles or individuals were present. A 27-year-old man from Plano, identified as Cody Morris, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities confirmed.
At 5:39 a.m., approximately 48 minutes after the incident, the Plano Police Department received a call from Allen resident Kelvin Joseph Jr., who confessed to his involvement in the crash. Richardson PD later reached out to Joseph, who revealed that he was heading northbound on U.S. 75 in a BMW sedan at the time of the collision with the motorcycle. During an interaction with Joseph, law enforcement officials noted indications of intoxication, which resulted in his subsequent arrest.
Joseph, a former cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, has also been associated with several other NFL teams, including the Dolphins, Seahawks, and Colts.
In a recent development, he has signed with the DC Defenders of the United Football League for the 2025 season. He is currently facing significant charges resulting from the tragic incident that occurred on Saturday.
