Dallas Area Rapid Transit has received a significant grant to improve its services. The U.S. Department of Transportation is providing $25 million to upgrade stations in South Dallas.

The grant will be used to make improvements at eight stations along the Red and Blue Lines. This includes removing center crosswalks and leveling platforms to provide easier access for passengers. Further details on the upgrades, including changes to signage and security systems, are available from the source.

The funding is part of a larger allocation of over $1.7 billion to more than 100 public transportation projects.
