Forecasters say that by Wednesday, temperatures will have risen back to near 90 degrees, which is much warmer than usual for this time of year in North Texas.
After a short period of cooler weather on Monday, when highs were close to 80 degrees, it is getting warmer again. The Fort Worth office of the National Weather Service says that the high temperature will be around 88 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
After breaking daily weather records over the weekend, the area is getting hot again. This means that spring is coming early to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In addition to temperatures going up, the wind is likely to get stronger. Thursday, winds could reach 30 mph, making grass fires more likely, especially in dry areas.
Forecasters warn that warm temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds can quickly increase the likelihood of wildfires. Our weather service warned of a possible risk of grass fires.
At the end of the week, there should be some short-term relief. It will be cooler on Saturday because a cold front will move through on Friday. Daytime highs will drop to around 70 degrees.
The slowdown may not last long, though. Soon after the front moves through, temperatures should rise again, continuing North Texas's trend of changing spring weather.
If people are doing things outside that could start fires, they should be extra careful, especially when it is windy.
