The start of the week was cool and crisp, almost like fall in North Texas. The cool air is expected to last for another day or two before the usual September warmth returns.

The National Weather Service office in Fort Worth stated that after a cold spell over the weekend, high temperatures are expected to remain in the 80s on Monday and Tuesday. Clear skies, low humidity, and light winds will keep things warm. Going into the lower 60s, overnight lows are much lower than the 30-year average for the second week of September.

This week, rain and thunderstorms are expected to stay away. Instead, the metroplex will have sunny days with light southeast breezes every day. It will get warmer again by the middle to the end of the week.

The highs on Wednesday are expected to reach the lower 90s and then increase slightly. It is expected to reach about 94 degrees on Thursday and Friday, which is a couple of degrees warmer than usual for Dallas-Fort Worth this time of year.

Even though the afternoons get hotter, the mornings stay pretty cool. The forecast for today, Tuesday, is bright and warm, with a low of 64°F and a high of 88°F. The wind will be from the southeast at 5–10 mph.

Wednesday will be bright and scorching, with a low of 66 and a high of 91. The wind will be from the southeast at 5–10 mph.

Thursday will be bright and hot, with a low of 68 and a high of 94. The wind will be from the southeast at 5–10 mph.

Friday will be bright and very warm, with a low of 71 and a high of 94. The wind will be from the southeast at 5–10 mph.

The Climate Prediction Center says that North Texas will have drier-than-average conditions over the next few weeks. This means that there may not be many chances of rain as late-summer heat returns.

People who are planning events outside should not have many problems with the weather. However, people who want to do physically demanding activities later in the week may want to do them earlier in the day.

For now, the area can enjoy a short stretch of sunny, calm days—a pleasant early taste of fall before the weekend, when warmer air returns under sunny September skies.
